Comments
- Going to be lucky if any water gets through this
- Clear in 3:45(!!)
- This was a very silly grind
Pours (target weight and time in parenthesis)
- First (52g in 10s): 3s early just too enthusiastic I guess
- Second (38g in 10s): bang on slow and steady
- Third (135g in 10s): 1s early why do we cut these things so damn close?
Tasting Notes
Nose: Grapefruit! That’s what’s in there with these nuts!
First taste: OK, you know what, there is too much darkness here. Probably because the grind was dumb but but but the initial hit was this rich velvety chocolate like a goddamn cake and I was not expecting that at all.
Second taste: A bitter aftertaste is letting down what could possible have been a 5.5 moon contender. Notch up the grind to a 1.6 (3.6mm) next time and we might have a winner.
Honestly, when it first hits the mouth it’s bold and rich but also smooth holy shit I think I’m on to something here. The citrusy brightness is muted in these beans but in a way that is more in balance with the richness goddamn it I’m listening to you beans I’m hearing what you’re saying and I think I like it.
